Creative Writing Club trip to Theatre

On Wednesday 22nd June, the creative writing club gathered in excited anticipation outside   reception awaiting the arrival of the minibus to take us to the Wolsey Theatre. We were going to watch Trevor Nunn’s interpretation of Shakespeare's ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.

The pupils, as expected, were impeccably behaved and even got chatting to other audience members as they took their seats.

The play had a Bollywood inspired theme and the stage set and costumes created a magical atmosphere. We found ourselves laughing out loud at the antics of the mechanicals and the mischievous Puck.

The set was very cleverly created and I couldn’t help wondering how they made it so realistic and amazing. It really was an incredible show and I’m so pleased I went to see it with my school.”

Despite some initial confusion over the Shakespearean language, the girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They are now busy writing reviews which will hopefully appear on the Wolsey Theatre website.
