Post-16 Information Evening
From the Army to Undertakers, not quite an A – Z of careers but close enough!
On Tuesday 29 January a host of local employers and post-16 educational providers set up their stalls in the main hall to provide information, advice and guidance on opportunities for our students in Years 9 and 10. This was an invaluable opportunity for students and their parents to discuss the range of courses on offer as well as the entry requirements with education providers. It also gave students an opportunity to speak with real business people, about what their job entails and the qualifications, skills and qualities required to do their job.
Whether it was finding out from the advisors at the University of Suffolk what qualifications are required to be an Architect or learning about apprenticeships in the legal sector, there was something for everyone.
We are grateful to all the post-16 education providers and local business who offered their services and supported us with hosting this event. With Key Stage 4 pathway choices looming for Year 9 in March and the beginning of ‘post-16’ considerations for Year 10, it was pleasing to see over 100 students attend and take advantage of this opportunity.
